Junior Business Analyst
Job description
Summary
We are seeking a capable and motivated Junior Business Analyst to contribute to the Business Management Department across market research, financial analysis, feasibility studies, project coordination, reporting, and departmental operations. The role will be responsible for carrying out assigned analytical and coordination tasks, supporting the evaluation of business opportunities, contributing to financial models and feasibility studies, and maintaining accurate project documentation. The ideal candidate should be analytical, organized, resourceful, and able to communicate and coordinate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research, including market sizing, segmentation, customer behavior, competitor analysis, and industry trends.
- Prepare and update financial models under guidance, including CAPEX, OPEX, COGS, revenue, profitability, breakeven analysis, payback period, NPV, and IRR calculations.
- Collect, organize, validate, and analyze business and financial data to support business strategies, KPI monitoring, and opportunity assessment.
- Contribute to the preparation of economic and technical feasibility studies for management review.
- Prepare and update project organizational charts, responsibilities, reporting structures, and resource plans.
- Provide analytical, coordination, and administrative support to the department and other internal teams as required.
- Contribute to project budgeting, financial analysis, and the monitoring of preliminary and pre-operational expenditures.
- Assist in the preparation, amendment, and review of contracts and agreements in coordination with senior team members.
- Prepare professional business reports, presentations, meeting notes, summaries, and other departmental documentation.
- Coordinate with internal departments to collect project information, follow up on pending requirements, and maintain updated records.
- Communicate professionally with partners, suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders as assigned.
- Act as a coordination point between the Business Management Department and other departments for assigned matters.
- Maintain organized records of vendors, suppliers, consultants, and potential partners.
- Manage assigned day-to-day administrative and coordination activities in accordance with company procedures.
- Contribute to the preparation and improvement of departmental procedures, templates, trackers, and workflow documents.
- Track and document project progress, including assigned actions, deadlines, correspondence, decisions, and project status.
- Identify and report potential business opportunities, project risks, information gaps, and areas for process improvement.
- Conduct follow-ups, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and monitor agreed action points to completion.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper filing and archiving of departmental and project documents.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Department Director or supervising senior team member.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or a related field.
2. Relevant exposure to business analysis, finance, research, project coordination, administration, or a related area is preferred.
3. Sound understanding of financial concepts, including CAPEX, OPEX, revenue, profitability, breakeven analysis, payback period, NPV, and IRR.
4. Good knowledge of market research, competitor analysis, customer analysis, and industry research.
5. Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
6. Ability to collect, validate, organize, analyze, and present information clearly and accurately.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Strong organizational, documentation, coordination, and follow-up skills.
9. Ability to prepare professional reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and management summaries.
10. Ability to work collaboratively with different departments, manage assigned responsibilities, and follow through on tasks.
11. Analytical mindset, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a strong willingness to develop further in financial modeling, feasibility studies, project management, and contract documentation.
12. Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
13. Professional, reliable, flexible, and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
14. Knowledge of Power BI, project management tools, or data analysis software is an advantage.
15. Proficiency in English, Kurdish, and Arabic is an advantage.
