Market Researcher
Job description
We are seeking motivated and capable Market Researchers to support the Business Management Department in conducting market, industry, company, competitor, and customer research while also contributing to the department's day-to-day operational, administrative, and coordination activities. The role involves collecting, validating, and analyzing information; preparing professional reports and correspondence in Kurdish and English; supporting the assessment of business opportunities; communicating with internal and external stakeholders; and maintaining accurate project and departmental documentation. The ideal candidates should demonstrate strong analytical ability, excellent report-writing skills, effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments across different industries and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market, industry, company, competitor, and customer research to support the department’s business and investment activities.
- Collect information from reliable sources, including government publications, company websites, industry reports, databases, interviews, surveys, field visits, and stakeholder communications.
- Analyze market information to identify industry trends, business opportunities, customer needs, competitor activities, potential risks, and market developments.
- Support market sizing, market segmentation, demand assessment, customer profiling, pricing analysis, and competitor benchmarking.
- Prepare clear and professional market research reports, company profiles, comparison studies, executive summaries, presentations, charts, and tables.
- Prepare reports, official correspondence, meeting notes, summaries, and other business documents in Kurdish and English.
- Review and summarize proposals, presentations, company documents, and information received from potential partners, suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Support senior team members in preparing feasibility studies, business plans, investment assessments, project reports, and management presentations.
- Collect market-related inputs for financial models and project evaluations, including pricing, estimated demand, supplier quotations, operational benchmarks, and industry assumptions.
- Prepare questionnaires, information-request lists, interview questions, and follow-up documents for potential partners and project stakeholders.
- Communicate professionally with internal departments, external companies, government entities, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders to obtain information and follow up on pending matters.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, record meeting minutes, and follow up on agreed actions and required documents.
- Maintain project trackers, research records, contact lists, correspondence logs, databases, and organized electronic and physical files.
- Support the daily administrative and operational activities of the Business Management Department.
- Assist the Department Head, Deputy Head, Senior Business Analyst, and other department members with research, documentation, coordination, follow-up, and reporting assignments.
- Draft emails, letters, memos, presentations, and other business communications as required.
- Monitor assigned sectors and provide updates on significant market developments, new competitors, regulations, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Validate the accuracy, relevance, and reliability of research findings and ensure that sources are properly documented.
- Organize and archive departmental and project documents to ensure that reports, correspondence, and supporting information are complete and easily accessible.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Department Head, Deputy Head, or supervising senior team member.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, marketing, statistics, engineering, or another relevant field.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to examine information, identify key findings, and form clear conclusions.
- Excellent report-writing and business-writing skills in Kurdish and English.
- Strong verbal communication skills in Kurdish and English, with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct structured research using online, published, field-based, and direct information sources.
- Ability to evaluate the reliability, relevance, and accuracy of information and distinguish supported findings from incomplete or unsupported claims.
- Ability to prepare clear reports, summaries, comparisons, presentations, charts, tables, and management- ready documents.
- Good numerical ability and confidence in working with market statistics, pricing information, demand estimates, and business-related data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet-based research tools.
- 1Strong organizational, documentation, filing, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, organize priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while following the guidance of senior team members and supporting the wider department.
- Professional, reliable, flexible, discreet, and capable of handling confidential company and project information.
- Relevant academic projects, internships, training, research assignments, or professional exposure in market research, business, reporting, or data analysis will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of Arabic and experience with Power BI, data-analysis tools, survey platforms, or project- management applications are advantages.
